Family Medicine Residency
Thanks for visiting our website! Since 1972, as one of the most experienced Family Medicine programs in the country, we have graduated 188 physicians. They have pursued a myriad of special interests in diverse career paths, but all obtained a solid clinical foundation to prepare them for changing healthcare systems. We are thrilled to introduce you to some of the many aspects of our program that help produce family physicians with the skills and confidence to fulfill their dreams.
The key to our success is the balance we provide. The resources of a large tertiary care center balanced with the personal teaching that is found in a community program. The broad base in the fundamentals of family medicine balanced with opportunities to pursue varied areas of interest. A rigorous program balanced with a supportive, nurturing environment. Outdoor activities, scenic locales, and a manageable lifestyle balanced with wonderful restaurants, theater and social amenities, and easy access to some of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States.
Since 2010 our clinical site, the Family Health Care Center, has been a Level 3 NCQA-recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH), and we have been a leader in preparing resident physicians for the changing healthcare world. Our residents – side by side with accomplished, talented faculty – care for a diverse population in our office and hospital.
Despite our excellence, we do not rest on our laurels. We are implementing “Epic” throughout our health system. This premier electronic health records system will help train our residents for the future of healthcare where clinical integration is paramount. We will soon embark upon multi-million dollar renovations to create a state-of-the-art office. Our hospital and community value our presence and contributions. In an era of cost-containment, we are growing by leaps and bounds!
Please let us know of any questions you may have. Again, thanks for “visiting” us.
