First-Time Junior Volunteers Application Checklist

Enrollment for the 2014 program opens January 2, 2014 and closes February 14, 2014.  No applications or letters of recommendation will be accepted before or after these dates.  No exceptions.

Step 1: (to be completed by February 14, 2014)

Apply Online then print out and send in two letters of recommendation to the Volunteer Services office.

Step 2: (to be completed by March 31, 2014)

Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator .You will be contacted for an interview after Volunteer Services has received your completed application and two letters of recommendation.

Step 3: (to be completed before orientation)

Complete mandatory two-step Tuberculin Skin Test and submit immunization records to Employee Health Services.

Step 4: (to be completed by May 16, 2014)

Attend volunteer orientation (students under 18 must attend with a parent/guardian).

Step 5: (to be completed by June 6, 2014)

Obtain ID badge (requires signature from Volunteer Services and Human Resources)

Purchase uniform at Volunteer Services Office

Female:

Optional Step 6: (to be completed by May 16, 2014)*

Complete an FBI Fingerprint Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance.  Submit copies of clearance certificates, along with reimbursement forms to the Volunteer Services office.

*These clearances are ONLY required for those who are volunteering in the Child Development Center, Children's Health Center, Emergency Department, Women's Health Center, Detox Center, or Center for Mental Health. Please note that the Child Abuse Clearance may take up to three weeks to process.
