TRHMC Trauma Program Receives Three-Year Reaccreditation

Monday, October 01, 2012

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center Trauma Program was recently granted a three-year Level II Trauma accreditation by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.

In its survey review, PTSF cited many positives of the program, such as the overall quality of care, program leadership, Trauma physician credentials, and the commitment to the program that is demonstrated throughout all levels of the organization.

As a Level II Trauma Center, TRHMC provides definitive care for severely injured adult and pediatric patients with complex trauma 24/7 with a specialized trauma team. The core trauma service line includes trauma surgeons who are trained in trauma surgery and critical care, emergency department nurses and physicians, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants; radiology, operating room, and ICU staff; blood bank personnel; and a chaplain.

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center Trauma Program earned its level Trauma II designation in 2005.
