The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences Graduation

The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences bestowed degrees upon more than 165 graduates in Nursing, Surgical Technology, Clinical Pastoral Education, Paramedic Education, and Radiologic Technology disciplines at graduation ceremonies held at 7 p.m. on  July 20 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 310 S. Seventh Avenue, West Reading, Pa.

OUTSTANDING CLINICAL PERFORMANCE to a graduating student who has achieved the highest clinical average over the two-year course of education, beginning with the second clinical semester of education - Brooke Prizer .

BETH MILLER AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT CARE to a graduating student who demonstrates excellence in patient care - Melissa Tobias.

WRRA AWARD FOR EXEMPLARY PROFESSIONALISM to a graduating student who consistently exhibits an exemplary level of professionalism when interacting with patients and colleagues - Jessica Deatrich.

THE CALVIN B. RENTSCHLER AWARD to a member of the graduating class for proficiency in the care of surgical patients in the operating room - Brook Harris.

THE GEORGE W. KEHL MEMORIAL FUND AWARD to a member of the graduating class for excellence in nursing and bedside care during the student's entire attendance in the school of nursing - Waleah Snyder.

THE BETH LYNN NEGLEY MANWEILER AWARD to a senior who has consistently demonstrated compassionate nursing care - Gissett Carranza.

THE READING HOSPITAL STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION AWARD to a member of the graduating class who has shown commitment to the organization, leadership, service and professionalism growth through involvement in the organization - Amanda Hydutsky.  

LEIDY SHEEDER BONANNO SCHOLARSHIP AWARD to a nursing student who has demonstrated perseverance in overcoming academic and/or personal issues to pursue their education - Martin Van Dongen.

ANN MERCURIO NURSING SCHOLARSHIP AWARD to a student who provides compassionate and effective nursing care to individuals with dementia - Lindsey Dart and Amanda Hydutsky.

STAGER SISTERS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD to a student who demonstrates compassionate ministry to aid and comfort to the very sick and dying - Andrea Huie and Randi Lepera.

CYNTHIA DEMPSEY/MOSER NURSING SCHOOL MEMORIAL TRUST to a student who has demonstrated exceptional academics throughout the first year of nursing classes - Karen DeFrees.

THE MAE WEBER STUMP SCHOLARSHIP to a student who has completed the first year of nursing classes and has demonstrated excellence - Monisha Knight.

THE JOHN TROJAK SCHOLARSHIP to a male student in the SOHS Nursing Program who has demonstrated excellence - Christopher Delaquito and Joseph Hutzulak.
