Pendo Named Nurse Manager of Hospital’s Evaluation and Assessment Center

Sheryl Pendo, Exeter Township, is the new Nurse Manager for The Reading Hospital and Medical Center’s Evaluation and Assessment Center.

In this position, Pendo coordinates clinical and administrative activities on the unit to provide high-quality care. She assures the provision of nursing care services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and has 24/7 accountability for planning and operations of the unit.

Pendo served as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Staff Nurse at the Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, Ariz., for four years. From 1999-2008, she was a PACU, Pre-op, PAT, and Endoscopy Staff Nurse at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas. From 1994-1999, she was an Emergency Department Staff Nurse at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.V. and from 1982-1994, she served as an ICU Staff Nurse, Outpatient Clinic Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse for the Mercer County Tuberculosis Service, and an Emergency Staff Nurse for Mercer Medical Center in Trenton, N.J.

Pendo earned her diploma as a registered nurse from the Abington Hospital Diploma Program, Abington, Pa., and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Messiah College, Grantham, Pa.
