Lewis Named Radiology Department Chair

Elaine Lewis, MD, Mohnton, has been named Chair of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center’s Department of Radiology. She replaces Thomas Helinek, MD, PHD, who stepped down from the position and remains on the active Medical Staff.

Dr. Lewis has been a member of the Hospital staff since 1990.  From 1994-2008 she served as Chief of Computed Tomography, and from 2006-2007 she was the Chief of Diagnostic Radiology.

Dr. Lewis received her bachelor’s degree from Albright College, Reading, Pa., and her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She served an internship in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and a residency in radiology at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, during which she served as Chief resident for her final year. Finally, she completed a fellowship in body imaging at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Lewis has been board certified by the American Board of Radiology since June 1989. She is the current Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Radiological Society.
