Wetzel Named Compliance Officer at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center

Kathleen S. Wetzel, Shillington, has been named Senior Director of Compliance and Legal Services/Chief Compliance Officer at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She will have a dual-reporting relationship, reporting directly to The Reading Hospital President & CEO Clint Matthews as the Senior Director where she continues to manage the Hospital’s legal resources, services and contracts while maintaining the legal integrity of the Hospital and its affiliates. As Chief Compliance Officer, she reports directly to the Hospital Board of Directors, and indirectly to Matthews, with responsibility for implementing and overseeing the system-wide Compliance Plan for The Reading Hospital and its affiliated entities.

Prior to coming to the Hospital in 2008, Wetzel was the Director of Legal Affairs for Arrow International Inc. and previously worked for Reading law firm Stevens & Lee and Philadelphia law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath.

Wetzel has a bachelor’s degree from West Chester University and earned a Certificate in Corporate Law from the Institute for Paralegal Training in Philadelphia.
