Larry Patton, of Lumberton, N.J., has been named Director of Facilities Management at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He replaces James Grant, who had held that position on an interim basis under a management contract with Grant Facility Management.

Robert Lahey, of Red Bank, N.J., has been named Assistant Director of Facilities Management.

Patton has been on site at The Reading Hospital for the past seven months as Assistant Director.  Before joining his current employer, Grant Facility Management, in 2010, he served for 12 years as Director of Plant Operations at Hackensack University Medical Center, ranked number one among comparable-sized New Jersey hospitals for quality achievements. Other experience in health care serving as Director of Facility Management includes CentraState Medical Center, New York Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and Germantown Hospital and Medical Center.

Patton is a civil engineering graduate of Purdue University, and holds a master’s degree in industrial management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Patton is also a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering and American College of Healthcare Executives.

Lahey, project manager with Grant Facilities Management since April, had been Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for the County of Monmouth, New Jersey, for five years, with an additional year as Deputy Director of Public Works. His healthcare experience of 22 years includes management of plant operations, construction, housekeeping, and security at Monmouth County’s Geraldine L Thompson and John L. Montgomery Care Centers, Monmouth Medical Center, Jersey Shore Medical Center, and Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center.  

Lahey earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology, and completed graduate courses in environmental engineering at Rutgers University.
