Medical Staff President Named Trustee of American Board of Radiology

Brent J. Wagner, MD, Chief of the Section of Diagnostic Radiology and President of the Medical Staff at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, has recently been elected by The American Board of Radiology (ABR) as a trustee, effective July 1.

Dr. Wagner is certified by the ABR in diagnostic radiology. As an ABR trustee, Dr. Wagner will participate in leadership and decision making to carry out the ABR’s mission and set standards for the board certification process in radiology.

Dr. Wagner is a member of West Reading Radiology Associates and serves on its Board of Directors. He is a visiting lecturer with the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology and author or co-author of nearly 50 publications. He lectures regularly on genitourinary topics. He is a former member of the teaching faculty at Hershey Medical Center, Penn State University, and a former staff member of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Wagner’s interests and expertise include magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound.

Also elected by ABR as trustees are Vincent P. Mathews, MD, Northwest Radiology Network, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Lynn D. Wilson, MD, MPH, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut.

The ABR was established in 1934 and is one of 24 Member Boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. The ABR certifies that its diplomates have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and radiologic physics.
