George Named VP & CAO at TRHMC

David L. George, MD, has been named Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.  In this position, Dr. George will provide strategic oversight for the graduate medical education (GME) program, medical student education, academic clinical research, and Continuing Medical Education.

A 27-year member of the Hospital’s Medical Staff, Dr. George most recently served as Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program and Associate Chair, Department of Medicine.

Dr. George will also coordinate the Hospital’s academic affiliations with Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel Medical School, Pennsylvania State University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Temple University.  All programs are accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Osteopathic Association.

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. George is fellowship-trained in Faculty Development and Rhematology, and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.  Dr. George also holds an MBA from Alvernia College.

Dr. George also serves on the faculty of Jefferson Medical College as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine.
