The Reading Hospital Receives Accreditation for Chest Pain Center

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center has been accredited as a Chest Pain Center with PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.  This type of accreditation indicates that a hospital has a dedicated Interventional Cardiology program, coupled with cardiology and emergency medicine healthcare professionals trained in the rapid response and treatment of heart attacks.

The Hospital will be accredited through December 12, 2012.

The accreditation announcement follows last month's on-site survey by two reviewers from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Both specialists remarked positively about the program's structure and dedication of staff.

Only 19 healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania are accredited Chest Pain Centers.
