Protocol Office Passes Audit Perfectly

Charles Lusch, MD, Medical Director of the Regional Cancer Center, announces audit results for the Protocol Office.

On June 29, the Protocol Office was audited by Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and, for the first time ever at any facility, the auditors stated they found a perfect audit, without even any minor infractions.

Dr. Lusch congratulates the Clinical Research staff. "The audit results are an indication of the high levels of safety and expertise available to patients who have the opportunity to receive leading-edge care for cancer at TRHMC."

The Protocol Office facilitates the availability of national cancer group and Fox Chase Cancer Center clinical trials for cancer patients, or those at high risk for developing cancer, at the Regional Cancer Center.

The research staff is under the direction of Terrence Cescon, MD, Principal Investigator, and Patricia Weiser, RN, CCRP, Nurse Manager.

The Regional Cancer Center participates in clinical trials sponsored by the following national groups:

• Radiation Therapy Oncology Group
• Gynecologic Oncology Group
• National Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project
• American College of Surgeons Oncology Group
