Anton J. Kleiner, MD, of Wyomissing, has been awarded the Dean's Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching by Drexel University College of Medicine. This is the fifth straight year Dr. Kleiner has been recognized for his accomplishments.
As a Faculty Associate with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at The Reading Hospital, Dr. Kleiner works closely with medical students from Drexel and other universities when they undergo clinical rotations in West Reading as part of their medical school experience.
The Dean's Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching recognizes not only excellence in teaching, but also outstanding commitment and contribution to Drexel University College of Medicine. The annual award, first presented in 1993, is based on senior student balloting with input from the Dean’s office based on an administrative review of evaluations of student rotations that take place outside the University setting.
Dr. Kleiner has been a member of the Hospital's Medical Staff since 1974. He has been actively involved with the Residency Program since 1990.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Kleiner is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, Berks County Medical Society, American College of OB/GYN, American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Kleiner received his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
