Annual Garden Party Slated for June 2 & 3

Great food, live entertainment, and fun for all ages will be featured at the Friends of The Reading Hospital Garden Party from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2 and June 3, on the grounds of the Reading Public Museum. Admission to the event and the Museum, all live entertainment, and the Kids Free Zone are free.

Special guests include the 2008 World Series Philadelphia Phillies mascot, Philly Phanatic; Reading Royals mascot, Slapshot; and Reading Phillies mascot, Screwball. Featured live bands include Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods and Jeff Domenick and The Fraction. For children there are rides, games, and craft activities as well as free entertainment provided by a clown, magician, and story teller. Terrific bargains can be found at the Plants, Flowers, and Herbs; Contributor’s Corner; White Elephant; Bangles, Baubles and Beads; and Used Books tents. A variety of food vendors will be on hand offering everything from Thai cuisine and french fries to Tacos in a Bag and strawberry shortcake. Chances will also be available for cash prizes. In addition to free admission, free parking is available in all Hospital garages with shuttle service to the Museum. The rain date for Garden Party is Thursday, June 4.
