Dixon Named Nurse Manager of Beginning Maternity Center’s R1 East Patient Care Unit

Lillian Dixon, Lancaster, is the new Nurse Manager for the Beginning Maternity Center’s R1 East Patient Care Unit at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

In this position, Dixon coordinates clinical and administrative activities on the unit to provide high-quality care. She assures the provision of nursing care services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and has 24/7 accountability for planning and operations of the unit.

Dixon last owned E.D.G.E. Consulting, LLC in Lancaster, serving as a Legal Nurse Consultant in obstetrical medical malpractice cases and providing education on nursing documentation and clinical standards of care. She has also held many positions in the nursing and obstetrics fields, including: Nursing Instructor for the Breckenridge School of Nursing at ITT Technical Institute in Albuquerque, N.M.; Director of the Family Birthing Center at Lovelace Women’s Hospital, also in Albuquerque; OB Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator at Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove, Pa.; and High-Risk Antepartum Home Care Nurse at Healthy Homecomings in Bensalem.

Dixon earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Widener University, Chester, Pa., and her Diploma in Legal Nurse Consulting from the College of Professional Studies, Boca Raton, Fla.. She also holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Bellevue University, in Bellevue, Neb.
