Reading Hospital Board Elects Leadership

C. Thomas Work, Esq., was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Reading Hospital and The Reading Hospital and Medical Center at a combined annual meeting of both organizations.

At the same meeting, Victor Hammel was elected Vice Chairman of both Boards.

Lil Murphy, President of The Friends of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, was named a Director on both Boards.

Work, Shareholder and Chair of the Estates and Trusts Department at Stevens & Lee, was first elected to the Hospital Board of Directors in 2004, and has served as Chairman since 2009. He serves on the Board’s Executive, Capital Resources, and Governance committees.

Hammel, Chairman of J.C. Ehrlich Co. Inc., succeeds P. Michael Ehlerman as Vice Chairman.  He was first elected to the Board in 1992, and currently serves on the Capital Resources, Governance, and Human Resources committees.

Ehlerman remains a member of the Board.

Murphy was elected to The Friends of The Reading Hospital Board of Directors in 2000, and has been a member of its Executive Committee since 2005.
