Annual Road Run Event Draws Nearly 1,000 Participants

The annual Reading Hospital Road Run was held on Sunday, October 10. A presentation of The Friends of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center and Diamond Credit Union, the run offered three events: timed 5K or 10K run/walks, and an untimed one-mile Fun Run.

Top finishers in each event were:

5K
Male – Stephen Young, age 23
Female – Vanessa Buttery, age 32

10 K
Male – William Rowland, age 24
Female – Kelly McElroy, age 22

Each first place winner in the 5K received $125. Top finishers in the 10K received $250 each. Prizes were also awarded to the second and third place finishers. A complete list of results is available at www.readinghospital.org/roadrun.

A total of 635 runners participated in the 5K event, while 329 runners competed in the 10K race. Both routes took the runners through a portion of the Wyomissing Borough and the grounds of the Reading Public Museum.

Racers and their supporters enjoyed live entertainment provided by the band Hat Trixx and free parking on the Hospital’s campus.
