Jones Named Senior VP & CFO of TRHMC & TRH

Richard W. Jones, of Atlanta, has been named Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center and its corporate parent The Reading Hospital.  Steven I. Finkel announced his retirement last week as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer after 32 years of service.

Jones brings more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience, including 20 years in CFO positions.  He has held numerous CFO positions at institutions such as USC University Hospital / USC Norris Cancer Hospital, Tenet Healthcare Corporation; Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, Vanguard Health Systems, University of Chicago Hospitals; San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, Catholic Healthcare West; Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, HCA, Inc.; and University Hospital of Arkansas, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

With graduate degrees in Professional Accounting and Business Administration from the School of Business, University of Miami (Florida), Jones also holds an undergraduate degree with majors in Political Science, Finance, and Accounting.

His expertise includes healthcare finance, financial and treasury operations, revenue cycle management, information technology, third party reimbursement, managed care contracts, supply chain, tax exempt bond financing, labor negotiation, and joint ventures.

Finkel, of Womelsdorf, joined The Reading Hospital Fiscal Affairs Department in 1978 as Third-Party Reimbursement Specialist. Following a stint as Controller, he was appointed Vice President-Finance in 1990, assumed the additional role of Treasurer in 1998, and became the Hospital’s Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer in 2008.
