College Student Summer Program

Update: We are no longer accepting applications for this program. Unfortunately, as we approach the summer months the ability to process and place seasonal college student volunteers becomes increasing limited and diminished.

Are you a college student who would like to lend a hand at Reading Health System, but are only available during your summer break? If so, our College Student Summer Program is the program for you. As volunteers, college students give their time for a minimum of one day a week, May through September. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities in more than 65 Hospital departments with options for day, evening, or weekend positions.

A few important notes:

• Applicants must commit to at least 50 hours of volunteer time, in regularly scheduled four-hour or eight-hour blocks.
• The process of becoming a volunteer, from application to actual placement in a department, can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks depending upon circumstance. This on-boarding process must be completed by June 2013.
• Due to the high volume of volunteers during the summer months we cannot guarentee placement in this program as space is limited.
• Please indicate on your application that you are only available during the summer months.
