Volunteer Work Groups

Have less time, but still want to lend a hand? Volunteer workgroups complete much needed service projects for Reading Health System. Community members come together on a monthly basis, both at Reading Hospital and our in the community to assemble patient information packets, complete bulk mailings, construct patient activities kits,  make tray favors, knit baby hats and prayers shawls, sew patient dolls and pillows and much, much, more!

Teen and adult work groups are available. Please consider your options listed below.

Teen Volunteer Workgroup Program 

Teens* throughout Berks County come together once a month to volunteer their time at the Hospital. They work on Hospital projects, such as assembling patient activity kits, completing bulk mailings, making patient tray favors and a variety of other tasks that help the staff and patients of the Hospital.* Teens must be at least 15 years of age.

Work sessions are held in The Friends Room of the Hospital located on the second for floor of E-Building on scheduled days. View current schedule.

Open Community Volunteer Workgroup

UPDATE: MAY 18TH WORK SESSION HAS BEEN CANCELLED 

Community members throughout Berks County come together once a month to volunteer their time at the Hospital. They work on Hospital projects such as assembling patient activity kits, completing bulk mailings, making patient tray favors, and a variety of other tasks that help the staff and patients of the Hospital.

Work sessions are open to all community groups, families, students, and all other individuals*. Sessions are held in The Friends Room of the Hospital located on the second floor of E-Building from 9 - 11 a.m. on scheduled days. View the current schedule.
*Any person under the age of 15 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Friends Volunteer Workgroups

Join one of over 30 local Friends groups that meet monthly, either at the Hospital or in the community. Meetings include participating in service projects such as assembling patient charts and packets, completing bulk mailings, and a variety of other tasks that help the staff and patients of the Hospital. Our Friends Volunteers enjoy the opportunity to socialize with others in the community who are giving of their time.
