Adult Programs and Services

  • Spruce Pavilion Adult Treatment Program incorporates a multidisciplinary team approach in providing services to individuals 18 years of age and older who are experiencing behavioral or emotional disturbances that require an inpatient hospital stay. The clinical team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nursing staff, social workers, and adjunctive therapists. Treatment includes family therapy, education, and comprehensive aftercare and discharge planning to help clients and families cope with their illness.
  • Adult Partial Hospitalization Program is a group day treatment program available to adults who require part time in-depth care. Partial hospitalization may serve to prevent or shorten an inpatient stay. It is often a valuable alternative for certain behavioral health problems, and is sometimes recommended as a transitional step between inpatient and outpatient programs. The Partial Program provides short-term intensive treatment designed to help individuals lead more successful and satisfying lives. The program hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Outpatient Services at The Center for Mental Health help clients cope with the everyday problems we all face but sometimes need support in handling. Outpatient care is often the best approach when normal coping styles no longer seem effective. We help clients find relief from symptoms, and help them to function effectively again as quickly as possible.
  • Our Dual Diagnosis Program helps stabilize, educate, and prepare clients to manage and deal with the damaging aspects of both mental health issues and chemical dependency. Services include: individual, group, and family therapy; psychiatric evaluations; and medication reviews. HIV counseling and testing are available to clients enrolled in the program.
  • The Drug and Alcohol Center provides detoxification, short-term residential care, and outpatient addiction services. Outpatient counseling includes individual and group therapy. The Drug and Alcohol Center provides telephone hotline support, drop-in care, residential detoxification, and short-term residential rehabilitation services. The 24-hour hotline and drop-in services are available to individuals in immediate crisis.
  • Adult Specialty Services include:
    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program is a specialized treatment program designed for individuals who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and engage in maladaptive behavior patterns.
    • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a community-based program that serves individuals who have the most serious and persistent symptoms of severe mental illness.
    • Clozaril Clinic is a weekly or biweekly service where clients who need to be maintained on Clozaril see a psychiatrist and nurse, have the required blood tests drawn, and receive their supply of medication. This "all in one" appointment helps with compliance and ensures safety standards are met.
