Telemedicine Robot

In addition to our in-house medical staff of physiatrists and internists, TReading Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides remote access to consulting Reading Hospital physicians via telemedicine. 

The Telemedicine RP-7 Robot is a wireless, mobile robot that can remove time and distance barriers to effectively extend the physician’s reach to manage patient care. Under the control of a remote physician, the Telemedicine Robot can move freely, allowing the physician to interact with patients, family members, and hospital staff from anywhere, anytime. The robot uses the first and only FDA-cleared remote presence technology to connect to medical devices such as electronic stethoscopes, otoscopes, EKG machines, and ultrasound machines. The Telemedicine Robot also has enhanced audio capabilities that allow the user to focus on a specific conversation, similar to using a person’s own two ears.
