Elca Swigart, PhD, CCC/A

Director, Speech and Hearing Department

Dr. Swigart completed her master's degree and doctorate in speech and hearing science at The Ohio State University and received post graduate training in pediatric audiology at NYU Medical Center. She joined Reading Hospital in 1980. In addition to being Department Director, she is also co-director of the cochlear implant program. Dr. Swigart's clinical interests include pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, and neonatal hearing screening. She has published in the areas of newborn hearing screening, cleft palate, and auditory perception.

Mary-Teresa James, AuD, CCC/A

Audiologist, Pediatric and Adult

Dr. James completed her master's degree in audiology at Pennsylvania State University and her doctorate in audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Division of Audiology. She joined Reading Hospital in 1991. Dr. James' clinical interests include auditory processing disorder, cleft palate, comprehensive hearing testing for adults and children, and hearing aid evaluation and fitting.

Kristi Taylor, AuD, CCC/A

Audiologist, Pediatric and Adult

Dr. Taylor completed her master's degree in audiology at Ithaca College and her doctorate in audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Division of Audiology. She joined Reading Hospital in 2000. Dr. Taylor's clinical interests include cochlear implants, comprehensive hearing testing for adults and children, and hearing aid evaluation and fitting.

Jennifer Raneri, AuD, CCC/A

Audiologist, Pediatric and Adult

Dr. Raneri completed her master's degree and doctorate in audiology at University of Pittsburgh. She completed the final portion of her clinical fellowship year at Reading Hospital prior to joining the audiology staff in 2008. Dr. Raneri's clinical interests include cochlear implants, comprehensive hearing testing for adults and children, and hearing aid evaluation and fitting.

Megan Barry, MS, CCC/SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist, Pediatric

Megan Barry, M.S. completed her master's degree in speech-language pathology at Boston University. She was employed by the North Carolina public school system prior to joining the speech-language pathology staff at Reading Hospital in 2010. Her clinical interests include cochlear implant and diagnosis and therapy for the pediatric population.

Holly Pietz, MA, CCC/SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist, Pediatric

Holly Pietz, M.A. completed her master's degree in speech-language pathology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was employed with Independent Living-Pediatric in Tampa, Florida prior to joining the speech-language pathology staff at Reading Hospital in 2011. Her clinical interests include cleft palate as well as diagnosis and therapy for the pediatric population.

Karen Thorp, MS, completed her master's degree in speech-language pathology at Ithaca College. She was employed with Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania prior to joining the speech-language pathology staff at Reading Hospital in 2012. Her clinical interests include diagnosis and therapy for the pediatric population.
