E-Ground. The library contains professional books and journals on
nursing, medicine, and allied health subjects. Students have access to
the library’s computers, which contain programs for research, word
processing, Internet, and e-mail use.
Current holdings include more than 13,000 volumes on nursing, medicine and allied health to support the curriculum, research and patient care needs of staff and students. Included within these volumes are the Dunitz Crisis Foundation Library, Consumer Health Collection and Management Collection. The library subscribes to 35 nursing journals and 65 medical journals in print. There are close to 4,000 journals available online.
Through the hospital’s intranet, students and staff have access to the Diet Manual, Micromedex (a drug database), the Library Online Catalog and the EBSCO Journal Databases including CINAHL, MEDLINE, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, Cochrane Databases and the Biomedical Reference and Nursing and Allied health collection.
Interlibrary loan is available for any materials that the library does not own from other institutions.
The library offers both tours and educational research orientations each year as well as individual instruction.
Copies of all textbooks for the Nursing Program are kept on reserve in the library.
There are photocopiers available for student use as well as computer workstations for accessing e-mail and the internet.
