Preparation and Recovery

Our 24-bed Preparation and Recovery Unit, located within the Regional Heart Center, allows for convenient patient care and easy access to our six laboratories and the Cardiac Services Suite. Both inpatients and outpatients stay on this unit for up to 24 hours after having cardiac interventions such as heart failure infusions, cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, peripheral angiographies, transesophageal echocardiograms, or cardioversion.

Patients having "same day" procedures receive preparation treatment in this section of the Cardiac Services Suite and return for recovery care after the procedure is completed. Patients receive complete care in one area, throughout all phases of their procedure, from preparation through discharge.
