Reading Health Physician Network Expands with Addition of Two Reading Area Healthcare Organizations

The region's largest physician group is continuing to grow with the integration of Reading Anesthesia Associates and Reading Convenient Care with Reading Health Physician Network (RHPN). Reading Convenient Care, now known as Reading Health Physician Network Family Medicine, joined the network effective Monday, May 1. The Reading Anesthesia Associates transaction will become effective on July 1 following regulatory approval and due diligence.

Reading Anesthesia Associates has been the exclusive provider of anesthesia services to Reading Hospital and its ambulatory surgery centers for nearly 30 years. This integration further improves coordinated access to high quality anesthesia services to patients.

As part of Reading Health Physician Network, Reading Anesthesia Associates' 26 board-certified and board-eligible anesthesiologists will continue to provide anesthesia services at Reading HealthPlex for Advanced Surgical and Patient Care on the hospital's main campus in West Reading, as well as at the Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge. In addition, the group plans to continue offering their services to patients at independent ambulatory surgery centers in the region.

Reading Convenient Care, founded in 2000 by Giri Mannepuli, MD, offers primary care and walk-in care to the community at 3535 N. 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg. Open during convenient hours, Dr. Mannepuli provides routine care, physical exams, immunizations and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.

Aligning Reading Anesthesia Associates and Reading Convenient Care with RHPN exponentially increases the ability to provide patients with a full continuum of services. Broadening the depth of the multi-specialty group with such highly respected practices is an extremely positive development.
