cancer will involves close collaboration between the individual and a
team of experts from many healthcare disciplines. Our Multidisciplinary
Cancer Clinics bring together these cancer specialists to meet with a
patient who is newly diagnosed or who is seeking a second opinion after
being diagnosed elsewhere. In just one afternoon, this individual walks
away with a comprehensive plan of care that has been personalized to his
or her specific disease, stage, overall health status, and expectations.
Our Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinics offer patient-centered treatment for individuals with:
Team members vary depending on the expertise needed in developing a plan of care, and may include physician specialists in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology; pathologists; and different surgical specialties. They rely on information provided by the patient and existing health records, as well as the shared expertise of the entire Regional Cancer Center staff... certified oncology nurses, therapists, psychologists, social workers, and others.
