In 2016, McGlinn Cancer Institute was been officially recertified for three years by the Commission on Cancer with a gold rating based on the seven commendations received. This is the highest recognition possible for this type of reaccreditation.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers has accredited McGlinn Cancer Institute. The institute was granted a three-year approval with Commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
